This app use to have better content but it has become heavily negative.

When you sync your contacts with the app, it unblocks users that were blocked. Now you can’t block the person again unless you friend them.

If you use the “Void” function to ask questions, the app now over charges when you authorize 1 purchase of a question bundle, even charging you 5x for only the 1 bundle of questions. You can report a bug issue in the app and they will give you more questions, but if you want your money back you have to ask for a refund through apple, which now stopped refunding when it charges you twice for only one set of questions. It even charged me for a new bundle when I wasn’t buying a question but just using my current bundle to zero, and it still did not give me the questions. This is a scam.

Co–Star feels like the Instagram of the cosmos: polished, provocative, and weirdly committed to making you feel worse about yourself. Nearly every reading is “trouble in sex and love,” “trouble in relationships,” or another explanation of what you’re doing wrong, avoiding, or failing to become. It doesn’t feel insightful—it feels like fear-mongering dressed up as astrology. I use several astrology apps, websites, and programs, and none leave me feeling consistently shamed the way Co–Star does. Astrology should provoke reflection and growth. Co–Star mostly provokes anxiety. At some point, negativity stops being “brutally honest” and just becomes bad guidance.

This app used to be so good like scarily good and relatable . Now everything is written by ai and is just word salad. I don’t even check it anymore but I would every single day when I wake up. When I do remember to check it, it’s so wrong . Do better

I used to love this app. The horoscopes felt personal, the daily insights were scarily accurate, and it was super fun to use. Now, every horoscope is clearly written with ai, littered with emdashes and adverbs like quietly. It’s disappointing. Part of the allure of CoStar was that it was personal. The first year I started using it, not a single horoscope repeated; now I check the app and I have the same dos and don’ts and day-at-a-glance at least 5 times a month. Either the creators sold the company or they got lazy and started using AI. As a true believer in astrology, I loved the specific advice. Everything feels so vague that I don’t believe what the app says anymore. It’s marketed as “personalized astrology” but both the insights on the app and Co-Stars social media presence feels so inaccurate and impersonal that it makes me angry. I deleted my account because it’s a shame that such a special app was ruined by AI.

The tone is always so negative and the predictions are wrong 99% of the time 😭

I was trying to subscribe a month of the premium to see if I liked it and somehow ordered a year. I’m sure it was an oversight on my part, but there’s a huge difference between the cost. I immediately cancelled the subscription and sent them an email requesting to immediately cancel the year and refund my money bc I wasn’t planning on spending the $50 on some horoscope app. Well it has taken them over a week to initially respond and they obviously didn’t look into my request because I got a generic answer telling me to do what I’d already done and I was requesting for a refund. Apple told me they need to process the cancellation of my subscription before I can get my money back and this girl, days later, tells me the same thing she said in her last email which was useless. They don’t even read your emails. Total trash company. I can get my horoscope out of the newspaper from now on.

Would love to be able to mute friends. To keep them on the list but not have them populate the daily readings

It’s wrong most of the time of course but a lot of the times it’s claiming that I’m gonna have either bad day or bad experience or bad luck… I hate astrology like this because I believe it’s bring that bad energy by making you believe you will have a bad day and it will happen because you’re looking for it. The reasons I’ve stayed are because weirdly enough everytime it says I’m gonna have good luck or a great day, it’s mostly correct and true. Weird. But the ones with bad days rarely come true and I just second guess the writing a lot.
