  • Recipe Keeper is the best!!!

I have been using it for more than five years now and it continues to be reliable and user friendly. I can carry it wherever I carry my phone and have complete freedom to catagorize and customise my recipes. The help section looks small, but in fact has the answer to every question I have wanted to ask. Great job!!

I love Recipe Keeper. It's easy to use. I love being able to import recipes off the web. The being able to sort & catagorize the recipes & mark them if they are Gluten Free.
  • The subscription doesn't work between devices.

I was so excited when I found this app and now I'm dissappointed! I bought the subscription on my iphone so I could keep recipes on all of my devices, which are all on a shared apple ID, and I can't access anything on my other devices still - it won't let me log into my account. The only option is will offer me is to buy the subscription again for $10 than I originally purchased it for. I emailed customer support and never got an email back.

I love this app but I get an error when trying to restore the Pro subscription on my Intel Mac. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix it. Given the not insignificant cost of the subscription I hope the developer fixes this issue. I've written support a couple times with no response.

The app states I can use it accross platforms. I cannot log in, without buying another license. Everywhere I turn to use it, I must purchase another license. Even if it's strictly apple. Terrible.

I have used recipe keeper for years, but despite paying for premium twice I can't get it to sink between my phone, laptop, and Ipad. I messaged support and never heard back. Otherwise a 5 star experience. But it's so annoying to forget which version of the app I have certain recipes saved to.

So over the years, I've collected recipes in a large hanging file box. Someone recommended this app, and i gave it a try. It's the easiest way to keep and display recipes I've found. The use is in the details. For instance, if you're working from an Ipad or similar device, it can be set to stay on until you close it. I love the ability to scan or photograph a recipe and have it put in your file. Best app i've run into for this,

This app will not work without an internet connection. A fact that is not prominently featured in their description. I have enough storage in my local lan that I do not need or want anything to do with any cloud. The only reason to demand you use their cloud is to gather info which they can use for any reason they want no matter how much they deny it. I WANT A REFUND.
  • Lots of Features, But Needs Some Tweaking

Overall, it's a great repice program, but there is room for improvement in my mind. I have stored over 27K recipes and my criticisms are only on my own observations. For some of you, these deficiencies, in my mind, should be corrected to make my use of this App excellent. 1. If you want to find a recipe that uses specific ingredients, it will bring up recipes for the first ingredient, but when you add other ingrediients to narrow the field, instead of just finding recipes with just those specific ingredients it finds all the recipes with any one or the other igredients and not just a recipe that only the specific ingredients you ask for. 2. If you scale a recipe, it changes the quantities in the ingredient listing, but not in the directions, so be ever vigilant. 3. The fields in Categories need to be expanded, or expandible, to show a good portion of the items names. For example, if you have number of types of "Flours" i.e. Flour (All-Purpose), (Bread), (Whole Wheat), etc., It will show Flour and not the rest of the description, so if you have quite a few varieties of Flour, it's a guseeing game as to which one is which. 4. Adding to the word library would be nice. If you can already, I haven't found it. 5. When scanning through recipes, there is a back button, but no forward one. These are the itmes that would make the App so much better for me personally. If none of these points don't affect what you want out of this program, then you are golden. Bon Appetit!
  • Buyer Beware

I downloaded this app and it seemed just what I needed. I frequently find recipes online, think they sound tasty and then completely forget where I found them. This had the potential of soving that problem. Buuuut...If you decide to upgrade on let's say, your Mac and expect that it would sync to your iPhone - not going to happen. If you wanted that convenience then you would have to purchase it on your Mac for $29.99 and then purchase the app on your iPhone for $19.99. Yeah, that's $49.98 folks. Three stars for being sneaky.
