Description

Plan epic road trips with Roadie. It's a clean and simple route planner for roadtrippers and campers like you - no matter if you map out your annual cross-country road trip or you live the #vanlife dream and explore the world in your campervan. Nothing beats the freedom of the open road. PLAN MULTI-STOP ROUTES Plan your trip itinerary on an interactive map and pin as many locations on the map as you need. Search locations of attractions, trails, or national parks and save points of interest in a list. You can now add your personal notes to every stop. SEE DISTANCES & DRIVING TIMES See distances connecting the road trip waypoints and know the driving times between multiple stops. Easily plan your time on the road and your gas and fuel consumption. SHARE YOUR TRIP (like Google My Maps) Share your trip and collaborate with friends on finding the most interesting sights and the best places to stay the night. FIND PLACES ALONG THE ROUTE (like Roadtrippers) Use search shortcuts to quickly find good restaurants, interesting sights or good value campsites. Type "pizza" or "burger" in the search to display these places on the map. Or just click on any place or POI in the map and add it to your list of stops or starred places. MARK FAVORITE PLACES Star places to visit and save them for later on the interactive map. You can add a note to be reminded of why you want to visit this place. Once you are on the highway or you map out your next road trip it is easy for you to see if one of your saved places is nearby and you can add it to your route. USE OFFLINE & NAVIGATE Change the order of places to visit with an easy-to-use drag-and-drop. Use the app offline while you drive on the highway and never miss out on attractions and sights along your route. Start the navigation with one click in your preferred navigation app and get driving directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. EXPORT & IMPORT YOUR ROUTES You can make a backup of all of your routes by exporting them in GPX format. You can import them into Google My Maps or share them with friends. • Roadtripper alternative

**that stars arent working for some reason - if they dont show up - i rate this app 4/5, but it has the potential for 5/5!! Just downloaded this as an alternative to Roadtripper who recently doubled their membership fees and downgraded their app - see their recent reviews, its not good… Anyway, this Roadie app is a decent replacement but it definitely has some improvements to make. Granted I am comparing to Roadtripper which was originally very good; now not so much… Would love to see these changes in Roadie: * calculate trip cost based on mileage and gas (according to your specifications for your car) * be able to see hotel and attractions descriptions and photos within the app and not have to view each one in google maps or other map app -Developers, is it possible to link up tripadvisor somehow? *calculate the cost of the trip using current avg gas prices, your vehicle specifications, miles of trip and cost of things along the way like hotels, tours, food budget, etc * have a more detailed waypoint list, with mileage btw each waypoint for your trip. * sort waypoints by date, * and be able to toggle waypoints on and off. Otherwise, i think its a really good alternative. Lets give Roadie our money so they can make this app better than Roadtripper!! :)

Me and my friends are planning a road trip and this app helps keep everything so organized and easy. Roadie has features unlike any other road-trip app and I highly recommend. I love that I can see mileage and adjust the route however I need, and also find restaurants and gas stations near my location in a way that is much more organized than apple or google maps. The support team is also very helpful and nice and were very responsive when I reached out about a problem on my end. I will totally be using Roadie for my future road-trips and everyday outings!
  • Nothing

Literally provides nothing until you sign up, then demands premium before you can figure out if it will work for you. Not worth the hassle.
  • Great road trip app!!

Just wanted to say what a great app this is! So pleased to have everything at our fingertips vs having to use 4 different apps for things like gas stations, rest stops and offbeat attractions. Well done

I’ve used Roadie twice to take a long road trip, and loved it both times. it’s extremely easy to use simply plug in your destinations and add them to your route. it offers a way to kind of schedule/rearrange your itinerary, which is extremely helpful. You can use the itinerary to plan out how long each day will be or what you plan on doing each day of your trip. I did what seem to be bugs in certain areas. For example I was planning a trip that was going on the “Going to The Sun” road and for some reason it kept calculating the route going around the whole park to the other side.
  • Pass! Can’t Fully Try Before You Commit

I can’t fully commit to paying for premium if I can’t see what I am paying for. I need an app I can commit to for my trips. There’s not enough with the free version to make an informed decision. So I will go with the competitor RoadTripper. With that I can see what I am paying for. Too bad. I was open to trying something different from the usual. Unfortunately they lost me as a customer from the beginning. Maybe in the future they’ll change this and I can consider them for my next series of trips. Roadie if your reading this, please consider.

Free version is worthless. Maybe it’s better if you pay.
  • Pay to share with friends

I would use this app over Google maps but they make you pay just to invite your friends to your map which is kinda stupid considering that majority of the times you are going to want to share with friends
  • Lots of annoying little problems

Love the idea, but tons of little issues that make it super annoying to try and use. Definitely not subscribing for another month but I appreciate their efforts. Maybe in another few iterations it'll get to a product that feels pleasant to use.

What is the point of this app VS just going straight to Apple Maps? This still just takes you to Apple Maps and in fact makes it a lot less seem-less. Bugged I wasted my money because I forgot to cancel before trail was up and was charged for a full year. Not sure where they got all their good reviews.
