Stir - Single Parent Dating

I paid $29.99 to only get recommended matches that live in completely different states. How useless is that. I get tired of even looking through everyone because maybe one in 20 is even in the same state. Wish there was a way I could get my money back.

Stir has a fantastic premise—helping single parents connect with other single parents or individuals open to being stepparents. The idea of creating a community where parents can find a second chance at love while understanding the unique challenges we face is brilliant. However, the app’s execution leaves a lot to be desired, particularly when it comes to the distance between matches. The radius settings seem broken, making it nearly impossible to match with local people. Out of every 100 swipes, I might come across one local match; the rest are out of state. For parents, this is a significant issue. We have commitments that make long-distance relationships impractical. If things were to get serious with someone out of state, it could force us to uproot our children or pull them away from their other parent—a situation that defeats the purpose of the app entirely. Stir has so much potential, but until they fix the issue with matching based on distance, it’s not viable for most single parents.

They won’t allow funny or humorous memes or pictures. BUT they allow tons of sexual profiles with explicit words in their bio’s. I WON’T pay for this site ever again.

I spent 1 day in this app because even though I set a distance of 15-20 miles. I was getting suggestions from states I don’t live in. Or cities that are about 100 miles away. Awful setup

This app was a waste of my time and Money. I live in NY. For every 2-3 people shown to me in NY. Seemed like 90% of all the profiles were in NJ PA or MA. I’ll never use this app ever again. Scam

I thought I would try this app out as it would be nice to meet like minded people that understands being a parent and not just wanting hook ups. Sadly all the people are out of state even with stating your distance in the filters. Then the notifications come in for an incoming message and there is no message there. Then 2 hours later the messages show up. Or it’s the other way around. A message comes in and the notifications pops up hours later. The app asks if you want to talk on the phone or do video chats but then doesn’t have a way to do either within the app leaving you to have to give out your number before you normally would. This was a waste of money to try out. They need to fix these issues and give people a week free trial so they see how horrible this app works.
