    I use the app every day. I have done Bible in a year and Rosary in a Yearwonderful. It makes everything more meaningfully and understandable. There are many more studies in there and Mass in a Months. They are many more studies in here too read and learn from. You will be glad you got this app!

  • Great content behind an expensive paywall

    They recently put daily meditations behind an $8.99/mo pay wall along with other features. You’re limited to the daily readings, a daily reflection video, and Saint of the Day. Which those in themselves are great but I really enjoyed daily meditations. $8.99/mo is just too much for a single feature that I missed. Why are all these apps money grabs.

    They’re slowly placing every feature behind a paywall. Soon you’ll have to pay $20 a month just to read the Bible. Why do I have to pay for the Daily Meditation now? They’ve ruined their app; you’re much better off finding an app created for the purpose of spreading the Good Word, not for the purpose of making money.

  • Beautiful and Helpful, But…

    This is a wonderful app. It has been a tremendous blessing for my wife and I as we are investigating the Catholic Church. For the first time in our marriage we have been able to consistently do shared devotions together every morning thanks in large part to this app. BIAY and CIAY have also been great resources. We love Ascension so much that we even purchased a Great Adventure Bible and a Catechism. However, it is frustrating that the Daily Meditation became a paid feature in the most recent update, without warning or notice of any kind. This was one of our favorite features and unfortunately we can’t justify paying a subscription fee at the moment. It’s understandable that Study Plans would be a paid feature that we would gladly consider paying for if we could afford it and were ready to go deeper but at the moment we are not at that point. We would even be willing to make a one time purchase to upgrade but unfortunately that is not an option. All that being said, we still benefit greatly from this app. It is beautifully designed and an invaluable resource for both Catholics and inquirers like ourselves. We are big fans of Ascension and can tell that they put a lot of love into what they do. God bless.

    Loved the app until they just put even the daily meditation reading behind a pay wall. I’m sure more is to come. It’s just another money grab now

    Ascension and Fr. Mike are truly such a gift to the world. The Bible in a Year podcast and many other podcasts from Fr. Mike have brought me closer to Christ. Technology has many downfalls, but this is truly the biggest blessing technology can provide! It is accessible to so many people! Thank you all!

  • BIY/CIY are more difficult to scroll through episodes than any other app

    I have been participating daily in BIY and CIY. I have been bookmarking episodes for the upcoming week or so for a while to minimize the amount of scrolling through episodes to find my place. When I scroll, seemingly no matter how careful I am, I either land on the previous screen and have to start over or inadvertently mark episodes as complete. Is there a setting that can make this workable? I’m on episode 145 on each and scrolling through to bookmark more episodes is becoming more and more unbearable.
