Invasive, frustrating and disrespectful of surroundings. Can’t find control. Limits the utility of the app to simply READ the WSJ.

Absolutely ridiculous that the WSJ app does not provide the ability to read or write comments. For this reason, I never use the app; I use a browser instead. The app is useless to me.
  • WSJ needs to upgrade to Liquid Glass

The app looks archaic. It feels clumsy to use as well. The sections are all at the top of the screen instead of a clean bottom-first approach. The articles themselves are excellent and kudos to the journalist and editorial teams. The app from a UIUX point of view lags tremendously behind.
  • Still not working offine

Two years later and still not fixed. Download editions only to get a no connection error when trying to read an article on a plane with no WiFi. Disable the download function until you finally fix it. Stop giving me false hope. Downloaded several print versions to read on a flight and did not load when not connected to the internet After the disastrous update last year, you would think that would have learned how to build a well functioning app.
  • Ads on paid subscription

Despite paying for a subscription, the app is still showing ads.
  • Autoplaying video

WSJ now autoplays video - with loud audio! - as you scroll through the home page. This is entirely unprofessional and has no place in an app that claims to target business.
  • Hard to read contrast

The “Print Edition” experience is excellent, but the “What’s News” section has a significant readability problem. The light-coloured text on the tan background has very low contrast, making headlines and other information unnecessarily difficult to read. It detracts from an otherwise excellent app.
  • Auto-play with sound intrusive

I am no longer able to read at night due to the regular auto playing of video with sound on as it regularly wakes my partner.
  • Plays ads at full volume

The app started playing ad videos at full volume while scrolling through the front page. Absolutely unacceptable.
  • Auto play video with sound needs to die a swift death

Please kill the auto play video with sound.
