It’s nice to be able to talk to real people and to have conversations back-and-forth to make sure that you’re listening speaking writing reading is what it’s supposed to be in that language. Not all interactions are for language purposes, I would say just be careful about that.

I’ve been banned from using this app permanently and the support team replies insanely late over 24 hours and they said I was banned for violating the rules and I will be honest. I did say some bad stuff but that doesn’t mean the people. I said it didn’t say best stuff either, but they didn’t get banned only me they don’t ban girls they rarely do and some people can spread gay stuff and Zaneis lobby stuff and they don’t get banned. I reported like a lot of them and they didn’t ban them. I still saw them on the app but when I said some things or defended myself sometimes and then they report me now I’m banned and they’re not doing anything about it. This is the most unfair disgusting app I have ever seen when it comes to talking to people. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT AND WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON IT. ALL OF THE GOOD STUFF IS SOMETHING YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THIS APP USED TO BE FREE BUT NOW THEY ARE GRIEVING GREEDY AS HELL.-1,000,000 STAR

Their AI doesn’t work or understands simple sarcasm. Even complaining about a problem takes days to be resolved. Don’t pay for it , just use the free app

It’s a good product but I wish we can search for people who have similar hobbies as us. Like we can use hobbies to search for similar people instead of it not doing that.

Got banned for loving Israel

This is rediculous you need to charge vvvvip The system has detected that you have been on‑mute in the room for an extended period without responding to the idle‑detection alert, and you have been automatically removed. Remaining idle can negatively impact the user experience; please do not leave your seat unattended.

I downloaded HelloTalk because I genuinely wanted to use the app for its main purpose: practicing languages, meeting people from different backgrounds, and improving my speaking skills. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing, especially when it comes to account management and customer support. The biggest problem is that your account can apparently be banned without any meaningful explanation or a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. In my case, I created a completely new account on a brand-new device and used the application for the first time. After only a few hours, my account was banned with a message saying that I had received multiple reports. This makes absolutely no sense from my perspective. It was a brand-new account, on a brand-new device, and I had barely had the opportunity to use the app. Being told that the account was banned because of “multiple reports” was extremely difficult to understand. How can a brand-new account that has barely been used suddenly accumulate enough reports to justify a ban? If the system is automatically detecting and banning accounts based on reports, then there is clearly a serious problem with the way the moderation system works. What makes the situation even worse is the support experience. When you contact support expecting someone to actually investigate the situation, the responses can feel generic and unhelpful. Instead of providing a clear explanation of what happened, what rule was supposedly violated, or giving the user a meaningful way to appeal the decision, it feels like you’re simply being told that the decision has been made. A language-learning application should encourage people to communicate and practice. Instead, the experience can become incredibly frustrating when you don’t even feel confident that your account is safe. You can spend time setting up your profile, connecting with people, and trying to improve your language skills, only to suddenly lose access. The learning experience itself also becomes much less valuable when you’re constantly dealing with moderation issues, restrictions, and uncertainty. The whole point of using an app like this is to have a reliable platform where you can practice speaking with other people. If users can lose their accounts unexpectedly and support won’t properly address the situation, it’s very difficult to recommend the platform. I understand that HelloTalk needs moderation and needs to protect users from abuse, spam, harassment, and inappropriate behavior. That’s completely reasonable. But there is a huge difference between having moderation and banning legitimate users without providing a transparent explanation or an effective appeal process. If an account really violated a rule, explain specifically what happened. If the ban was triggered by reports, investigate whether those reports were legitimate. If the system made a mistake, give the user a way to correct it. Simply saying “multiple reports” is not enough, especially when the account is brand new and the explanation doesn’t appear consistent with the actual usage. Overall, my experience has left me with very little confidence in the platform. I downloaded HelloTalk to learn and practice a language, not to spend my time worrying about whether my account will suddenly disappear or trying to convince customer support that there has been a mistake. The concept of HelloTalk is great, but the account moderation and customer-support experience seriously need improvement. Until the company provides better transparency, more reliable moderation, and a genuine appeal process, I would be very hesitant to recommend this app to anyone who is planning to invest significant time into building their language-learning experience on the platform

They deleted my account due to I am not a learning user. Excuse me? I don’t even star to use this app. I just registered it. Stupid app and stupid company.

Update: Even if the official responds to me here, APP still doesn't allow me to re-register. This App is easy to be blocked for discussing politics. I was exposed without talking about any political issues and didn't let me re-register. You can't get to know more people without spending money. They will repeatedly recommend the same person to you, and even deliberately limit the number of views.

So many non sense, even they say it language learning app it isnt, and full of filtering with any comment related with certain country,politic they ban you. Typical trash language app
