  • Disappointing changes

Been using Clue to track my cycle for many years. I loved it and recommended it highly. I’m now disappointed that every time I use it now I’m prompted to pay money to access all features, it used to be free.
  • I would recommend it over and over again

I love clue. I live in America that has increasing reproductive restrictions and I feel more at ease knowing Clue keeps data safe and secure. The app itself is wildly helpful, informative, and easy to use. I would recommend to all women/people who would could benefit from tracking their cycle!

I like the daily reminder to log an activity but I don’t like that there’s no intelligence behind delivering that pop up. Often times I log activity before the reminder and then 5, 10 minutes later, or even an hour, I get the reminder, it would be nice if the app checked for a minimum duration between last update in a calendar day before triggering.
  • Ads

The amount of ads had been a problem for a long time but after the most recent update I didn’t get a single ad when opening the app! Aside from the banner ad which is 100% awesome with me. I would love for this to be the new normal! This tracker is honestly great. The base features you get for free, help to keep track of your cycles and any symptoms making it easier to plan for and remember any changes. The paid version has so many extras, great resources and excellently organized information, on pregnancy, cycle changes and so much more. Thank you!
  • Clue hates women.

I’ve used Clue for 5 years (since 2019) but the app recently updated, and is now so terrible that it is completely and utterly unusable. Every single thing you do makes a pop-up ad appear asking you to purchase something, and they hide the X button. And even worse, you can’t get rid of their twice-a-day pop up notifications asking you to buy the subscription. Then they got rid of so many things that used to be available and hid it behind a paywall. For an app on women’s health, hiding information and advice on health is absolutely shameful and anti-woman. So frustrated that I have to delete it now and start over with another app.
  • Pro-Abortion App.

After looking into some of the apps details about late periods, I learned that they support abortion. If a woman is found unexpectedly pregnant, she doesn’t need to be told to go to Planned Parenthood to get an abortion. Clue is spreading false information about pregnancy resource centers, saying that they use “scare tactics” to persuade a woman to not abort her baby. This app is supposed to be for tracking periods, not spreading terrible misinformation to women. After using this app for 4 years, I will be deleting it and switching to another period-tracking app.
  • Changes really degraded the app

I’ve been using this app since 2018 and at that time it was perfect. I would have given it five stars back then. It logged what i wanted to log, was free and easy, and was out of the way otherwise. Now that they’ve started a subscription-based service, i’ve been considering finding another. I don’t use the data for anything other than telling my doctor when my last period was and checking to see if my next period is soon. But every time you open the app, you’re bombarded with ads for the paid subscription version and the functionality dwindles every update. I’m sure the things the paid version gives you are valuable for people trying to get pregnant but i don’t need them and it’s driving me off of this app. I know part of the app’s new stuff is educational content, but when i’d rather go to google for that personally. A period tracking app isn’t netflix — it feels silly to pay a subscription for the minimal usage i need. If you just want to track your periods, you’re probably better off with a different app or an old fashioned calendar.
  • Annoying

The app is definitely good for tracking but the amount of pop ups is insane. You can’t do anything without getting a pop up to purchase. I was in the using the app today for 2 minutes and I had 3 pop ups to upgrade.
  • Could be Better

I’ve had Clue since I was in high school so I would hate to lose the data that I have accumulated all these years. I like its simple design and how it isn’t blatantly obvious as a period tracking app (as some other apps tend to be). However, the constant pressure to buy premium is getting ridiculous. Every single day I use the app I say no to upgrading and every day Clue just has to ask me. I also wish the app gave us the options to include what brand of birth control we’re using at the time. As someone who’s trying out different methods, there’s a stark difference in side effects between Skyla and Kyleena for example. It’d help with tracking side effects a lot and explaining to providers what works for you and what doesn’t. Also, make creating your own tags free again! That’s such a basic simple function it’s ridiculous how much they’re making their own app unusable.
  • It’s just Ads

I am unable to leave since I’ve been using Clue for years at this point and all my data is stored here but if you’re looking for a period tracking app I would steer clear of this one. There’s so many ads it’s hard to navigate and just check what your period cycle is looking like.
