  • Best on Windows

Far better on Windows 11, Apple and Microsoft still trying to force you to be on one side. Just the same as iCloud on Window is not good.
  • Typical Terrible App from Microsoft

Beware, this app will suddenly stop working without any ability to restart it. If you reinstall OneDrive, then you will be in a living h-ll trying to remedy the situation. If your company has standardized on Microsoft Office, try to get them to switch to Apple, Google, Zoom or another, far better set of office apps and email.
  • Download OneDrive from the website! Don’t install via App Store!

This version is buggy. For example, it doesn’t let you rename files in Finder sometimes. To avoid the bugginess, just install this via the installer that can be found by searching online!
  • Needs private folder support

I installed this specifically to transfer some sensitive data and learned that I have to use Safari for that instead. Incomplete product.
  • Much better in 2025 than in the past

I use this on my Mac, phone, and iPad for working on a novel series. I know it was garbage as Skydrive. I still used it. I know it needed work at Onedrive. I stuck with it. Then i left the Surface behind and went back to Mac, and yes it took a while to get better on the Apple infrastructure, but it finally caught up. I can make an edit on my iPad and the file updates within 2-3 seconds on my Macbook. That’s as close to realtime as it gets. The hiccups are rare, and when I have one, I can go into the version history of a file and reload that properly. And I’m pulling files 20-30 times a day because I work on my series by chapter. I have 13 volumes; it’s a LOT of chapters. Word might pull an old version that was saved on the M1 and save the old version over that file so it shows up that way on my iPad or M4. But I can open the version history and grab the right version and fix it quick and easy. No anxiety, no drama. And that digital handshake hiccup might happen once in an entire month, and it’s so easy to fix that I don’t even stress about it. That’s what Word, Notes, and Onedrive has become for me. Consistency and the ability to fix a hiccup effortlessly. And when my wife goes to work on a file from our series over on her Surface, she can work on it with me in real time effortlessly. It’s awesome.
  • Switching back to iCloud Drive

This use to work great. Now I get errors uploading all the time. Subscription cost went up in price, and not really sure why because it got worse, much worse. I really dislike this now. I am moving everything back to iCloud Drive for better performance.

Great job! No need to purchase expensive internal apple drives. No need to install 3rd party internal SSDs. A fast external drive does the job!
  • Great!

I see bad reviews on here… personally, I don’t think the users know what they’re doing. It works as it should, and it’s one the better sync solutions. Works between all devices whether they be Apple, Windows, Linux, computers, phones, or tablets. Have used OneDrive since it was SkyDrive, and will not switch… and… it’s better, way better… than iCloud.
  • Best cloud service ever

I think OneDrive beside Copilot are the best services Microsoft ever created.
  • Routinely breaks

I need to collaborate with co authors among different machines. I use both Macs and PCs. OneDrive for Mac routinely breaks, and has to be reinstalled. It causes me and my team to lose work because it breaks version control on documents and spreadsheets. MSFT offers the usual excuses about how Apple doesn’t allow it to embed OneDrive into the Apple OS and file management system, but these are excuses. They could make this work if they wanted to. Dropbox works, so this should work too. At least they could put this app on a server that will allow me to download and reinstall this in less than 30 minutes. Like all MSFT products, this product is not fit for professional use.
