This app is so bad. For every 1-star review the developer give you that same bull🤬🤬🤬🤬 that your family has chosen this app for you. The screen time is also very inaccurate. My screen time is set to 1 hour but it allows me around 40 mins. This app also blocks the dumbest stuff that is perfectly OK to watch like NBA highlights. People, I bet that AI is responding to your 1-star reviews and the developer doesn’t care about the best for kids and teens. This app is also a big waste of storage. When it locks you device, it glitches everything up. I would give this app 0 stars. Good news kids, you can dealeat this app by going to VPN settings and removing the software. Even if I search up sports videos like “Juventus vs AC Milan own goal” the next thing is that it restricts the video and tells my parent that I searched COR dangourus content. Parents, think twice before wasting cash on this app.
  • Qustodio – Glitches, Overactive Alerts and summary of app

Hello people who are reading this I’ve experienced with Qustodio Kids. On multiple occasions, the app has caused my phone to become unusable. After the device is disabled, two separate messages appear; one is a command-style pop-up that cannot be dismissed, and the other incorrectly states that I am too young to use apps such as Google, YouTube, and others. Neither message can be closed, leaving my device effectively unusable. The app also appears to apply inconsistent age restrictions; on some devices it enforces a 7+ limit, while on others it applies a 13+ limit, which is confusing and prevents normal use. Another concern is the amount of activity the app reports. It generates detailed summaries of conversations from games with proximity chat and other routine interactions, resulting in my parents receiving hundreds of notifications from normal gameplay and conversations. This makes it significantly more difficult to distinguish meaningful alerts from everyday activity. I have also noticed that the app frequently generates safety alerts and “Online Safety Tips” for normal conversations. For example, common gaming terms like “headshot” in Discord or proximity chat can still trigger warnings even when nothing unsafe is happening. A lot of the safety tips also feel pretty basic and unnecessary, and they show up so often that it gets distracting instead of helpful. Over time, it just adds to alert fatigue and makes it harder to notice alerts that actually matter. The monitoring can also become intrusive during normal voice and text communication in games and social apps. Even casual conversations while playing with friends can be flagged or logged, which makes it feel like routine chat is being treated as a potential issue. This becomes annoying over time, especially when it happens consistently during normal gameplay. Which I understand it’s trying to keep me safe but it’s annoying from time to time I appreciate the purpose of Qustodio Kids and understand that its goal is to help keep children safe online. However, the issues above have made the experience frustrating and, at times, have prevented me from using my device however I want to. Summary: One more thing, this vpn/app parents put on kids phones is terrible because 1 it blocks all internet so I can’t even help my self if I get lost and also I can’t see the locations of other devices while on downtime which in my opinion is a safety hazard am I wrong? This app also dosent let you view images on downtime which is really annoying, another annoying feature I had to go into my parents phone‘s to find out how to enable simple apps like discord or YouTube, I also couldn’t watch the World Cup games so I missed a few because Qustodio put it as restricted on YouTube and keep in mind with the other vpns I was able to watch whatever I wanted while still getting rid of the bad stuff. To the parents who are reading this their are better vpns than this one and it’s just not worth the money because I’d say most kids hate it from how inconvenient it is. And also NO one wants to contact your support team do it yourself your reading the reviews. Thank you,

qustodio is actually the final boss of parental controls. when i got this app my phone went from a normal device to a heavily supervised government facility. every time i click an app qustodio appears like “interesting choice ” and blocks it before i can even breathe. my screen time report knows my schedule better than my own family. this app has caused more arguments than it has solved problems. my parents installed it to “build trust” and somehow we ended up in a fights over why I need to use my own phone less.the app works so well at limiting my screen time that it also limits my patience, happiness, and will to explain why i need access to basic apps. 10/10 security. 0/10 vibes. qustodio, you are the reason my phone and i need a break. i hope all is NOT well and i hope your business burns in flames 🤗

The first thing I want to do when I get home from running a half marathon with my team is relax, check my messages, and maybe watch something. Instead of that I have to deal with a ridiculous process of figuring out why I can’t use any of my devices. For some reason Qustodio was utterly convinced that it must be midnight, despite the fact that it was only 1pm. So obviously it should lock down all of my devices and prevent me from doing anything. I had to interrupt my parent’s work just to fix this stupid glitch. After more troubleshooting than seems massager, due to confusing settings, we fixed that issue. That should have been the end of it, but no, instead of letting me finally do something, Qustodio decided to block my phones internet, and close any application that I tried to open on my computer. I still haven’t been able to figure out the second part, so thanks Qustodio, you’re really making the world a better place.

It is actually so annoying because when I do anything am I just lockout then my apps get deleted or something they have to put them all the way back and I don’t even have Face ID sometimes working cause I have stuff and it just makes me locked out for a while and it’s just so much that happened so I really hate this app. I like liked it that when we could use no Wi-Fi games sometimes when they like lock it out for 15 minutes you could use like no Wi-Fi games but now my parents when they lock it out and like says, sorry you. Cannot open this app.
