  • Hatch 2 is terrible and hard to use

We have been hatch users for four years. The first hatch we bought died, and so we bought another one. The new device and accompanying app is so hard to use. None of the schedules will save, the app is unbelievably hard to navigate, and too many things are oriented to a premium upgrade. I couldn’t be more dissatisfied.

I like the convenience of adjusting settings on my phone but absolutely hate the fact that if I connect to our Hatch and either close my phone or switch to a different app I HAVE TO completely close out of the Hatch app and get back in in order to adjust it again. It’s a waste of time and shouldn’t happen

With the new iPhone update (18.1.1), the save button disappears when trying to set an alarm.

It would be helpful to have a “history” tab on the hatch app so we can see when it was turned on and off throughout the day. This would help parents keep track of when kids went down for naps and how long those naps lasted.

Frustrating to navigate and select my preferences. Most of the tracks are jarring and annoying. And the selection of soothing tracks is underwhelming. Also previewing the lighting and music options is slow and tedious.
  • Good but needs some ux fixes to be great

Hatch has been good routine improvement to help my toddler be more independent. I would like to suggest a few improvements though. While routine customization by time is a great first step, often getting a little one to sleep is not linear. Here are some quirks that have made bedtime more challenging. - if I need to replay a bedtime story if my son has fully fallen asleep asleep I tend to hit the rewind / back button so it plays again. This means it will also jump the volume to original level even if I didn’t change the volume making it frustrating. As a parent I tend to bring down the volume lower as he gets sleepier so if it’s jumping back to 40% it will startle him awake. - the other piece is how much I would love for hatch to have smarter detections and ux responses. If baby starts to cry, have customization where it might play pattern for baby that has worked in the past. I can see this being useful for babies in process of getting sleep trained. instead of the parent manually adjusting music / lights until baby is asleep, this automation / smarter detections would help so much so parent can get some rest without the manual adjusting when the original “routine” is already past initial custom times set. In summary would love : allowing playing bedtime songs until baby is asleep vs fixed minute. If baby wakes, hatch should adjust routine to help baby back down to bed if parent has manually adjusted volume outside of routine presents, don’t interfere with parents current volume settings as this can startle the child if volume goes to original level set for the routine. A loud volume may be more appropriate when starting the story and baby is awake but lower volume may be more appropriate as the child is drifting into sleep.
  • Awesome update

The new update is messy, difficult to find what you’re looking for and to make adjustments to sound, brightness, etc.
  • Rest 2 will not register

Seems a lot of people have this issue without any better suggestions than to keep trying the same thing over multiple days or return the item for refund. Hatch Rest 2 is useless without being registered and the registration fails without any useful error messages.
  • Doesn’t work anymore

The app use to be fine but since about two months ago you have to completely close out the app to use the power button again. Once I turn it on I can’t just simply open it to turn it up, down, or off. I have to close out the app then restart it. Makes it more annoying. I hope this glitch is fixed soon. We are on year 3 with our Hatch.
