There’s really just one essential app for astronomy. SkySafari 7 Pro is the full-featured version that lets you control your mount, drill down through data, log your observations, and much much more.

It’s crashing when I click on tonight

The UI changes from Sky Safari 4 pro have made it much harder for me to find things. I found the older versions much more intuitive to use. I only updated because I wanted new comets. At this point I’ll stick to the older one in preference to this version.

I don't like the constant reminder to upgrade to the pro version. I don't like to be reminded about something that I'm not interested in especially when I paid money for the app in the first place.

I chose SkySafari some years ago in part because there was an app for my iPhone, iPad, and iMac as well. Unfortunately, when SkySafari 7 was released for iOS and iPadOS, we waited in vain for a new version of macOS. SkySafari 6 still runs on M1 and newer Macs, but because it’s not a native app, the startup time is excruciatingly slow. It’s obvious the company has no plans to release another macOS version in the future. Instead, they want us to run SkySafari 7 for iPadOS on macOS. Although it does start up quickly, it’s not the same app and the user interface experience isn’t what it should be on macOS. I’ve finally had it, and am abandoning SkySafari in favor of another app that is available for all my devices and is updated regularly.

I don’t understand why refunds are not allowed after purchase. I clearly explained the situation to Apple twice when requesting a refund, but both times it was rejected. The Chinese translations in the software are mostly incorrect, and I can’t use it at all.

Developer has abandoned its pricey Starry Night desktop app leaving customers high and dry. For this reason I will not pay more $$ for premium features or subscriptions to Simulation Curriculum until they honor all software customers.

Normally, I would absolutely rate this app 5 stars however as of recently they have not kept up with the app. Every time you click the tonight button it instantly crashes.

No information about C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) comet. All updates installed, tried to search by the name, scrolled the list of comets. No information about it at all.
