    Update screwed everything up. Pop ups for pushing stupid paid functions every time you do basic things. Can’t add to calendar even your settings allow it. It’s a hassle to use it now

    Seems majority will give you one week free to join a group then $5 every week. Very expensive. I guess meetup is responsible for the mess

    Well, download both. The way that Meetup has squandered its position in… global society, is staggering. It’s not just the app that has gotten worse over the years, but it’s the insane advertisements in the last six months and lack of free organizer tooling that has completely sunk their community. I live in Seattle, and all the new cool events, at least for the tech industry, are on Luma. Just tragic, considering I used to be a paying organizer a couple years ago.

    An app established to provide social opportunities thus healing our disconnected world and communities. It has turned into yet another money making venture. Pay for connections, pay to bump up on the waiting list (cuts in line), pay to see participants photos, pay when you have more members, and now you CAN’T open your regular home at first, you have to see the ads! Ugh

  • Platform needs an upgrade

    The meetup community is awesome. However as an organizer the platform needs an upgrade. It is clunky and difficult to navigate at times for organizers and members. Right now I am trying to get into my members on the app on my phone and unable to. On my laptop I need to reset my password and it kicks me out because I need to enter captcha and there is no captcha! Very frustrating.

    I sometimes wonder if the next networking event I am going to will be profitable. This group is based on networking strategies that work. We had a good time networking, and learned a helpful strategy. It was worth it.
