Description

You've studied. You've done the lessons. And a real person says one sentence to you and your mind goes blank. Speak City is a language game where the levels are real places — and the only way forward is to actually speak. Speak City isn't a flashcard deck, a chatbot tutor, or another course you'll abandon by Wednesday. It's the first language game where the conversation IS the curriculum: real scenes, spoken out loud, judged honestly — and a city that opens as you speak. HOW SPEAK CITY WORKS 1. You land in a city where nobody speaks your language — with nothing but your passport. 2. Every level is a real place with a real goal — order breakfast from the barista, get your medicine past a chatty pharmacist, talk your way into the party. 3. You speak. Out loud, in your own words. The characters listen, react, and speak back. 4. Every scene ends with a fair verdict: the transcript of what you actually said, what worked, what to fix — and an instant free retry. Win the scene, stamp your passport, and the city keeps opening — from surviving your first café to holding your own at a table full of locals. AN HONEST VERDICT, NOT A GOLD STAR You've had the apps that cheer everything you say — and the false sense of progress that comes with them. Speak City tells you how you really did: kindly, clearly, and with the exact words to do better. Progress you can feel, because it's real. YOU CAN NEVER FAIL — AND YOU CAN'T FAKE IT Stuck mid-scene? The world helps: the character slows down, rephrases, offers a hint, a local friend whispers the phrase you need. A total beginner still walks out with the win. The scene adapts to your level — the verdict never lies about it. A CITY, NOT A COURSE No template drills. Every scene is culture-native — the café banter, the pharmacy manners, the dinner-table chaos are true to the place, illustrated like somewhere you'd want to visit. Your passport fills with stamps, districts unlock, and the map is your progress bar. BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO'VE DONE THE OTHER STUFF School classes. The apps. Maybe a tutor. You can pass a quiz — you just can't order a coffee. You don't need more vocabulary lists; you need somewhere safe to actually talk. Speak City is for the part of you that learned a language to speak it. SUBSCRIPTION TERMS Subscribe to Speak City Plus to unlock the full city — every district, scene, and character. The speaking immersion is a great idea however having to tap multiple buttons to understand what is being said and then what to say is kind of annoying. Using the CC to see automatically what they are saying and then what to say would be more helpful. And then when you are given a hint into what to say it just audio clips what to say with no CC makes it more difficult . For me seeing what I’m saying and hearing would assist in being able to speak it as I can make that connection in pronunciation. Overall seems fun and more interactive then other apps I have used

Too expensive a program, though it does seem very interesting. Says it offers free trial but then when I click it still tries to charge my card and then says card declined willing to give it a try. I have my doubts. It will work.
