Description

Signal is a messaging app with privacy at its core. It is free and easy to use, with strong end-to-end encryption that keeps your communication completely private. • Send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs, and files for free. Signal uses your phone’s data connection, so you avoid SMS and MMS fees. • Call your friends with crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls. Group calls supported for up to 40 people. • Stay connected with group chats up to 1,000 people. Control who can post and manage group members with admin permission settings. • Share image, text, and video Stories that disappear after 24 hours. Privacy settings keep you in charge of exactly who can see each Story. • Signal is built for your privacy. We know nothing about you or who you’re talking to. Our open source Signal Protocol means that we can’t read your messages or listen to your calls. Neither can anyone else. No back doors, no data collection, no compromises. • Signal is independent and not for profit; a different kind of tech from a different kind of organization. As a 501c3 nonprofit we are supported by your donations, not by advertisers or investors. • For support, questions, or more information please visit https://support.signal.org/ To check out our source code, visit https://github.com/signalapp Follow us on Twitter @signalapp and Instagram @signal_app

Been using for a couple of years and been happy. Until I recently lost my iPhone. When I replaced my iPhone and signed in: - There was no backup of my messages even though it seems like they should have been backed up to iCloud. - It looked like I had been re-added to groups but I found send or receive msgs to any group until the admins removed and re-added me.

I know that when I use Signal, my civil liberties are not violated or shows up on my phone bill and I can breathe at last. The service they provide is top-notch and there is no record of text or conversation on the phone bill, which is amazing nowadays because every phone company will turn you in at the drop of a hat. Thank you signal you are much needed and I hope my friends will catch on to your wonderful service that you provide.

  • Poor dev decisions lead to weird contacts bugs

Their app uses the central contact list, but gets confused when that list updates itself. Deleting contacts wont fix it as signal seems to keep its own record of what is going on. The apple ios then tabs signal and adds its contacts to those found in apps which makes a bad or bugged contact regenerate. Ugh.

Can you please add this one features! 1) Long press on the image to take back to that conversation ( like whatsapp ). There is no easy way to go back in the conversation without scrolling it . i have 1 year worth of chat and it would be nice if i could long press from my media section any picture and if lets me go back to that conversation

Please signal should add a feature that enables or allows ones to login one account on 2 or more phones just like telegram, I’m very sure majority of signal users will appreciate it a lot
